Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence premiered in 47 theaters on Friday and earned $317,722 by the end of the weekend, placing it 28th at the box office. The movie earned an average of $6,760 per theater, the highest per theater average in the top 40 box office movies.

Meanwhile in Japan, Innocence is currently the top selling DVD.
